Writer: Please examine this entire document. However, you are ONLY responsible for the highlighted section. The other sections are being done by other group members. THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL ESSAY but a group slideshow presentation. The written document should be cohesive to the slideshow. Please be very thorough using Evidence-based practices (EBP) and Interventions for current SOCIAL WORK practices and systems theories. If you are unfamiliar with these PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE research. During Residency II students will be divided into a group of 3-4 and will present a clinical case. Students will create their own case – this case can be a situation they have faced in practice or one they create. The presentation should include the following: ● The identification of the individual/family or group with background information including: o Presenting problem or concern o History of the presenting problem o Social history o Family history o Previous Interventions ● Your assessment of the client/family/group ● Discuss your engagement of the client/family/group o Specify the specific social work practice skills that will be used in your engagement USE THE BRADLEY CASE STUDY ● Your intervention strategy (your intervention should integrate the systems the individual, family, and/or group encounters o The intervention should be specific and a specific evidence based practice (see handout on examples of common EBP’s) o Describe any consultation or supervision that may be necessary o Be sure to include considerations of diversity and cultural awareness ● Describe your evaluation strategy o Include specific methodologies and measures o Describe how your evaluation will be incorporated into to future practice and work with this client/family/group ● Present specific policy implications for the EBP intervention you are proposing The presentation is expected to be 15 minutes with 5 minutes of questions from your cohort. Students should time their presentation to make sure it is no longer than 15 minutes. Appropriate citations are expected for all of the information presented. Without appropriate citations the information will not be considered valid. It is expected that students will use their advising/practice time in residency to create and participate in the project. Your passing of the residency depends on a quality presentation that demonstrates critical thinking and thoughtfulness. You will not be successful in this project by assigning out different pieces and integrating at the final moments. Students are expected to work together each afternoon on this project while faculty will be available to assist. This is a group assignment with a group grade. Groups are randomly assigned on the first day of residency. If there is a problem within the group dynamics, part of the grade is the ability of the group to work out these issues and to collaborate and create a cohesive presentation. Group concerns/issues should not be brought to the faculty member – it is the responsibility of you as future social workers to work together to address any concerns as you would as professionals.
