Find an article in popular media (e.g. NY Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Variety, Refinery 29, etc.) that uses experimental research to substantiate their article
I’m working on a Communications question and need guidance to help me study.
Now that we have learned about experimental research within the field of communication, let’s see how popular media has used experimental research (preferably within Communication). Find an article in popular media (e.g. NY Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Variety, Refinery 29, etc.) that uses experimental research to substantiate their article. In the Discussion Board Post please do the following:
1. Identify where you found the popular press article, provide a link if possible, and provide a brief overview of the popular press article and the research they used within the article.
2. Discuss the popular press’s article’s tone when explaining the research. For example, did the article suggest that the research was proof when explaining the research or evidence towards an argument it made? Did the popular press article discuss the sampling procedures or limitations when discussing the findings?
3. Using what we have learned in class and in the textbook, explain the importance of addressing the limitations of the research when sharing it in the popular press.
